Monique Glover
Designer & Creative Director
Hello!
Monique (Mo) Glover is a New York-based fashion designer, design educator, journalist, and creative entrepreneur whose work sits at the intersection of fashion, education, culture, and community.
With more than two decades of experience in fashion, Monique has designed for emerging womenswear and children’s brands and is the founder and creative director of ZYEM NYC, an independent label named after her son. Her work is informed by her Black American roots in New York City, global travel, and the people and communities that have shaped her life across generations.
Beyond the design studio, Monique brings her industry experience into the classroom as a Design & Textiles educator, introducing young people to fashion, textiles, creative problem-solving, and the many career pathways within the design industry. Her commitment to youth-centered creative experiences also extends into community programming, including Wearable Stories: Youth Community Couture, a Queens-based wearable art project supported by the New York Foundation for the Arts’ Queens Arts Fund.
As a contributing journalist and media correspondent, Monique covers fashion, arts, culture, and community stories, bringing the perspective of both a designer and educator to her reporting.
Across each of these roles, her work is connected by a common purpose: using design and storytelling to create opportunities, amplify voices, and make the creative industries more accessible to the next generation.
